Silver
Over the summer of 2026, I followed a barn owl family - two adults and four owlets, from nest to fledging. Watching them grow across a single stretch of farmland.
Silver is the collection that came out of that summer: three frames, shot in black and white, built around a style I've been working toward — more environmental, more about the space around the bird than the bird alone. It opens with long grass catching the last low sun, silvered blades streaking past an owl perched at the field's edge. Then a pale shape half-hidden in a ruined roofline. Then wings spread wide against a dark barn wall, caught mid-turn in flight.
The name is a nod to that monochrome palette, but also to the bird itself - the ghost-like look and movement of a barn owl is somewhere between silver and white, always seeming to carry its own light.
This is a limited run. one of each image available in A4 print on NST Bright White 315gsm paper.
